Electric Algae

Electric algae is a renewable energy and blue economy startup focused on developing an innovative bioenergy system that utilizes Macroalgae. With the world facing an energy crisis, we understand the importance of affordable, sustainable, and soilless energy sources. The solution involves converting solar energy into electrical current through photosynthetic organisms, offering a promising approach to clean energy production. By developing a simple and cost-effective Bioelectrical System (BES), electricity will be produced from Macroalgae, based on initial proof of concept technology developed at the Technion. Our circular economy business model includes generating bioelectric energy from algae, while also providing an autonomous food supply and clean water. Revenue will be generated through the sale of our Bioelectrical Energy System (BES), services, energy, and carbon credits.
